Baptiste W. Hamon (FR)
Baptiste W. Hamon is a singer-songwriter from Paris, France. He sings in his native language French, but his writing and music is largely inspired by American folksingers like Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Leonard Cohen, John Prine and Butch Hancock. The leading French magazine Popnews considers him as the most promising songwriters of his home country. The song ‘Peut-être que nous serions heureux’, a duet with his partner Alma Forrer, is certainly one of the most beautiful songs of the last decade in France, according to Popnews.
Baptiste W. Hamon recorded his debut album in Nashville with producer Mark Nevers (Caitlin Rose, Vic Chestnutt, Bonnie Prince Billy, The Silver Jews) and was released in 2016. It contains a duet with Will Oldham (Bonnie Prince Billy). January 2017, Baptiste W. Hamon will be playing at the showcase festival Eurosonic in Groningen.
